Why Adventure is essential in our lives, from my perspective.

Adventure is essential in our lives because it keeps us learning and growing. It enables our minds to have something different than what we usually do in our everyday lives. Most importantly, adventures remind us that we are in this life to have joy and feel the love of the people around us.

Most of the time when we go on adventures, we choose to go with good friends. Say you have decided to take a road trip, even just for the day, you call up your best road trip buddy. You want that feeling of excitement, joy, and laughter that makes you feel good.

You want to put the windows down and sing at the top of your lungs. You want to feel that freedom that adventure allows us to embrace.

My desire for life experiences

Knowing Adventure Is Important

For the last few years, we were shut down, forced to sit in reflection on what was around us. We all asked ourselves questions about the why’s in our lives. One thing I knew for sure was that I loved going on adventures. When our kids were younger, I would plan epic family adventures.

They didn’t always feel like vacations or holidays because we all liked to adventure, and that takes some effort.

When we would return home, we all felt different, refreshed and ready for what came next. I remember as a kid that adventures were a way to escape, and sometimes we need that so we can return with a fresh new perspective.

I saw a quote from Travel Quotes on Facebook. It said, “We travel because we need to, because distance and difference are the secret tonic to creativity. When we get home, home is still the same, but something in our minds has changed, and that changes everything.”

Good Friends to go with.

Places to experience.

Joy to be found.

Rediscovering the Child Within

Adventure changes everything, giving us the freedom to think differently. It allows us to release the chains that can hold us down. Adventure lets us live and is childlike, which in turn helps us rediscover parts of ourselves we have forgotten.

This past year, I chose the word ADVENTURE as my word. I wanted to bring adventure back into our lives. To experience life to the fullest and find joy. I wanted to release the kid inside me who wanted to come out and play.

We are all meant to play in this lifetime. Whatever that looks like to you, if you set out to go play, you will find your adventure and the freedom unleashed from deep inside you.

So many places to go and play!

Go Play!

Having set the intention for adventure, I didn’t have to look far; adventure found me. We have been fortunate to travel quite a bit in the last 4 months, and more adventures are on my horizon. I consciously decided to push outside my comfort zone, not allowing fear of travel to dictate my adventures. I just went for it.

Through these adventures, I have made meaningful connections with people. Along the way, I made new friends. I chose to travel with people with who I wanted to be strongly connected. So, I could reconnect and build a bond with my adventure buddies, which makes me feel more supported in my everyday life.

I hope you can find time to have a new adventure and that you can make meaningful connections with friends. You may find that you need to have an adventure on your own and get to know yourself again, which is a great idea. Again, whatever you decide to do or go, big or small, being able to change up your space and the people in it will only help you to learn and grow. Adventure is a beautiful opportunity that we all can enjoy.

Get out there and go Play!
